You'll never guess where baby names really come from!

"My name is Ashley"

"Ashley? That's an English name. Did your parents come from England?"

"No, My father is Italian. My mother is Canadian."

"So how did your parents decide on the name?"

"They didn't. My mother told my father. 'You chose the first three names for the boys. The names were Italian. This baby is going to be a girl. It's my turn to choose the name."

"But why did she choose "Ashley?"

"Because at that moment she was looking at a soap opera on TV and there on the screen was her favorite character....ASHLEY!"

One story I was told a long time ago fell into "Not to be Believed" category. The husband named the baby Genevieve after his first love when he was a soldier stationed in England during World War 11!
