Tuesday and Friday are garbage days
Tuesday one can for metal.
Friday are two cans:
One large can for recycling
One small can for composte
On each of those days i put out two plastic bottles of cold water on each can.
One for the driver, the other for the man who zooms and skips and hops and tosses the garbage cans.
After a month the miracle happened.
The garbage guys show their gratitude that I have acknowledged their existence, their worth,
and that I am appreciative of their contribution to my well being.
Without words they thank me for having touched them
by hauling the empty garbage cans down the asphalt driveway
to the bottom next to the garage doors where the cans stay the rest of the time
For a moment in time, we have touched!
